What can I say. Coach Eli is 1 of the baddest but also the humblest coaches in the game. I started my boxing journey in 2015 had had a couple of fights and I felt like I was at a standstill in my boxing journey, came across coach Eli in 2019 and had a 1 on 1 session with him a week before my flight, and instantly learned more in that 1 session then I had the previous years so I decided to join coach and his team and since then he's made me 1 of the best boxers in the world, man and most importantly help shape me into the boxing trainer I am today. I've known Eli for over 20 years now, formerly both Air NZ employees. But I have got to know him more over the last 2 years while being involved with the Underground Fight Team. In that time I have learnt 10 times more than the previous 20plus years I've been training in a number of combat sports and Martial Arts Disciplines. And I put that down to Eli's friendly approach and technical expertise in his structured and very easy-to-follow system that he teaches. He is very very passionate about boxing, and that permeates through his classes and more so into the concentrated format of fight training. Coach Eli has helped progress my boxing skills big time over the past couple of years. Eli offers more than just technical prowess, he also offers mentorship. I picked up training with him during a dark time in my life, and his effort he invested in me as a fighter and as a man was selfless and influential. Even since moving on from the team, he has maintained a relationship with me as a friend and role model, and it’s these characteristics that make him the coach he is.
